Dubliner Eileen Dunne retired from RTE in November 2022 after more than 40 years working with the National Broadcaster.
She began her career there as a radio announcer and moved to the Newsroom in 1984, where for the next 38 years she would be involved in covering and breaking, the main stories of the day.
She also presented programmes on RTE Lyric FM and the God Slot on RTE Radio1.
She now works part-time as a media training consultant with Alice PR.
Her passion for the life and work of President John F Kennedy came from her father, Mick Dunne.
She is also interested in European affairs and from 2010 to 2014 she served as International President of the Association of European Journalists.
She currently sits on the boards of St. Francis Hospice and the Feis Ceoil and this is her third year as Chair of the Kennedy Summer School.
