Jessica began her career in journalism in the newsroom at one of the country’s most successful regional radio stations, Beat 102 103, while completing her final year in Technological University Dublin as an undergraduate of Journalism and Irish.
In combining her growing love for radio and passion for Gaeilge, she also took on the role of presenting Music Dé Domhnaigh every Sunday afternoon, which she prided herself on making the language accessible for all levels while enjoying the latest music in the charts.
Jessica then continued to work with the Irish Times Group, but took a leap into the world of print with the Waterford News and Star, and focused on all things local around the Déise.
In late September 2024, Jessica edged her way closer to home as the Wexford native became part of the Mediahuis Ireland team, with responsibility as the main journalist for the New Ross Standard. The link between the New Ross Standard and the Irish Independent often provides an opportunity for the local stories across the district and its surrounds to be presented on a national platform.
Jessica’s coverage to date has highlighted many long-standing political issues, celebrated major milestones in the community, along with hard-hitting breaking news stories that have sent shockwaves across the nation.
