Hon. Linda Dorcena Forry

Linda Dorcena Forry, a former Massachusetts State Senator and State Representative, is a trailblazer and widely respected leader in business, government and philanthropy. Forry’s career spans two decades in the public sector, including serving 13 years in elected office. A native Bostonian and first-generation American of Haitian descent, Linda made history by becoming the first woman and person of color elected to the Senate’s First Suffolk district.  

Linda formed a community development consultancy firm that offers multi-tier services from real estate consulting, to community relations and DEI strategy bringing her expertise and extensive experience over the last 30 years working in the public and private sector. After leaving public office, Linda ascended into senior business roles becoming a trustee of Eversource Energy, a national leader in renewable and clean energy, and largest utility company in the Northeast. Linda was also an executive at Suffolk Construction serving as Vice President of External Affairs and prior Vice President of Diversity, Inclusion & Community Relations.

Linda is a co-publisher of the Dorchester Reporter/Reporter Newspapers and focuses on business development and strategic partnerships. The Dorchester Reporter, the award-winning weekly community newspaper, celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2023.  The Reporter also has various online ethnic platforms such as the Boston Irish Magazine (previous Boston Irish Reporter) and Boston Haitian Reporter.

Linda is one of the founders of the New Commonwealth Racial Equity and Social Justice Fund (NCF), which works to elevate and provide Black and Brown non-profit leaders and community organizations equitable access to philanthropic dollars in Massachusetts. She is active as a Director on the Board of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for U.S. Senate, BIDMC Trustee Advisory Board, Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester and the Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island Chapter just to name a few. 

She holds an MPA from Harvard University, JFK School of Government, and a BS, in Business Management from Boston College. 

Linda lives in Dorchester with her husband, William Forry and their four children.
