Gerry Arthurs is an academic and commentator with over 30 years of experience as Lecturer in International Relations and Politics. Currently at the South East Technological University, Waterford, he was previously in the Department of Law and Government at Dublin City University and visiting lecturer at NUI Maynooth and the Irish School of Ecumenics, TCD. He was a Visiting Scholar at the Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies at George Washington University in Washington DC, and a Visiting Lecturer at Reims Management School, Reims, France, and at Universidad Loyola Andalucia in Cordoba, Spain.
Gerry is a member of Team Europe Direct a panel of expert speakers on European and international politics in conjunction with the European Commission; is a regular contributor on the airwaves, on local radio WLRFM and Morning Ireland on RTE radio; and has previously written for the Irish Examiner. He gives regular public talks and seminars across the South East and serves as Chair of the adjudicating panel for the annual EU Soapbox competition run in conjunction with the Europe Direct and Waterford Libraries. His media contributions range across EU foreign policy, EU institutional affairs, EU enlargement, EU-US relations and Brexit, as well as UK and European national politics, the Middle East, and geopolitical developments.
