Emma DeSouza is a civic innovation specialist, peacebuilder, and writer. She changed UK law in a high-profile human rights court case in relation to the Good Friday Agreement and works across media, politics, and civic society in Ireland, Europe, and the United States. She led in the creation of the first All-island Women’s Forum, founded the deliberative democracy platform the Civic Initiative, and is the Director of the Northern Ireland Emerging Leaders Program with the National Committee on American Foreign Policy in New York. Emma has long campaigned for the extension of voting rights to Irish citizens outside the State, and sits as vice-chair and Northern Ireland spokesperson for votingrights.ie
