2023 Kennedy Summer School Programme

Welcome to the Annual Kennedy Summer School in the picturesque town of New Ross! We are delighted to gather here once again, celebrating the enduring legacy of one of the world’s most inspirational families, the Kennedys. This year’s event promises to be a truly memorable experience, filled with intellectual discourse, cultural enrichment, and a sense of community that resonates with the values exemplified by the Kennedy family.

As we come together in this historic town on the banks of the River Barrow, we are reminded of the deep connections between the Kennedys and New Ross. It was from these very shores that a young John F. Kennedy’s great-grandfather set sail for America, ultimately shaping the course of history. The Kennedy Summer School serves as a vibrant platform to explore and commemorate this rich heritage.

Our distinguished line up of speakers, including renowned scholars, politicians, activists, and artists, will engage in thought-provoking discussions on a wide range of topics, encompassing politics, diplomacy, human rights, arts, and more. With insightful panels and captivating keynote addresses, the programme is designed to foster knowledge exchange, inspire critical thinking, and encourage dialogue on issues of global significance.

Beyond the intellectual pursuits, the Kennedy Summer School offers ample opportunities to immerse yourself in the charm of New Ross. Take a stroll along its quaint streets, visit the Kennedy Homestead, or take a tour of the Dunbrody Famine Ship. Engage with fellow attendees, share ideas, and forge connections that extend far beyond the confines of this event.

We extend a warm welcome to all participants, be it first-time attendees or familiar faces, as we embark on this journey of discovery and celebration. Together, let us honour the Kennedy family’s remarkable legacy and contribute to a brighter future, inspired by their unwavering commitment to public service, leadership, and the pursuit of excellence. Enjoy the Kennedy Summer School, and may this gathering be an enriching experience for all.

It is worth repeating: there will literally be something for everyone at the Kennedy Summer School from the 31st August to the 2nd of September. We hope that you will join us for some or all of what promises to be an informative, thought provoking, and enjoyable three days in New Ross.
