Patrick Prendergast is Chairperson of the Governing Body of South East Technological University and a Research Professor in Trinity College Dublin where he served as President/Provost from 2011 to 2021. He is also Chair of the Board of the Douglas Hyde Gallery of Contemporary Art and a member of the Board of Innovate for Ireland which will launch its PhD programme in the coming year. He is a mechanical engineer by profession and has published extensively in the field of medical device technology. He hails from Oulart in Co. Wexford.
