Ciara Phelan is a political correspondent with the Irish Daily Mirror. She began working at Leinster House in July 2020 after the formation of the Coalition and when the country was battling the pandemic. The housing crisis, the cost of living and women’s healthcare are three topics that she feels passionately about. On International Women’s Day last year, Ciara launched her podcast, The Glass Ceiling, which gives female politicians the platform to share the personal and political challenges they have faced in their lives. Prior to working at the Irish Mirror, Ciara worked at Newstalk and in RTÉ Cork. She studied at the University of Limerick and is originally from Carlow.
